Lonely Gimmick is the alter ego of Max Pow, an anonymous multi-instrumentalist musical artist; both of these names are pseudonyms to hide the artist's real identity. Lonely Gimmick blends diverse genres spanning from hip-hop to techno, and lo-fi to indie, into unique soundscapes.

Their work is self-recorded and produced, with the vast majority of the instruments featured on each track played by the artist. LG has been building up a following online since 2020, releasing singles such as "Blue Ticked Influencer" and "Grumpy Days." all the while winning praise from online music press outlets such as American Pancake, Iggy Magazine, and featuring on BBC Introducing.

Lonely Gimmick’s upcoming album, Stay at Home to Sleep In, releases on February 23rd, 2024. The album includes tracks such as "Pessimistic Weather" and "Blue Ticked Influencer," previously only available on Bandcamp and Youtube. The album opens up with the title track "Stay at Home to Sleep In," which is part of a trio of songs all about one relationship. After this, no more songs will be written about her. It is done! LG considers "Stay at Home to Sleep In" one of their best songs to date.

When asked about the creation of this album LG is quoted as saying: "This whole album has happened because I pushed myself to get it done. This is a self-made album with no wizard behind the curtain pulling the strings".
